A MESSAGE FROM THE TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE VIA MAYOR TIMOTHY SHANLEY, DATED 05.21.20

Mayor Shanley COVID-19 Update 5-21-20

Today was a better day on our journey down the mountain.  NJ had 1,304 new positives and is now at 151,472.  We had good drops in hospitalizations and patients on ventilators and in intensive care also decreased after we flat lined a few days.  This is good news.

Bergen County had 93 new positives and is at 17,583.   Only 2 counties were over 100 positives today and they are not in the North.  They were Monmouth and Middlesex County.

Wyckoff continues on its good path and had 0 new positives for its second day in a row.  We remain at 284 positives.  Wyckoff residents are doing a remarkable job of stopping the spread of this virus.  Maybe we can teach the rest of the State so we can end this pandemic quicker.

There was no further guidance coming out or Trenton on further relaxation of the Executive Order.  Hopefully the news is better on that front tomorrow although it may not come until Tuesday after my telephone conference call with the Governor's staff.

Keep up the good work on not bringing the virus back to Wyckoff and spreading it.  Hopefully we can make it a 3 day streak tomorrow of no new positives.

Keep the faith we will get to the end of this together.

Have a great night.

Tim Shanley, Wyckoff Mayor
