Mayor Shanley COVID-19 Update October 30, 2020

Mayor Shanley COVID-19 Update October 30, 2020

Unfortunately cases continue to rise in NJ and around the United States. We can still enjoy Halloween with our children tomorrow but need to wear cloth masks to help stop the spread of this virus as best we can.

9 NJ counties were over 100 positives today with 5 over 200 positives including Bergen on the NJ dashboard. Only 1 state is still in the green on RT.live. See below. We must remain vigilant in our fight against this virus.

NJ had 1,682 new positives on Wednesday, 1,477 on Thursday and 2,089 positives today which brings the total cases in NJ since the start to 236,523 . This is 13 straight days over 1,000 and the first time we are over 2,000 since May.

NJ hospitalizations are up from my Tuesday report from 957 to 1,058 COVID-19 patients today with increases in the North from 493 to 577, a decrease in the Central from 240 to 216 and an increase in South Jersey from 224 to 265. Patients in critical care are up from 182 to 221 patients and patients on ventilators increased from 68 to 79. NJ deaths rose 14 on Wednesday, 8 on Thursdday, and unfortunate confirmed deaths today as a result of COVID—19.

The Governor’s ROT remains at 1.26 today from my Tuesday report. On RT live the ROT decreased from 1.18 on Tuesday to 1.14 today which is a positive sign as it also decreased on my Tuesday report. See link:

https://rt.live/

NJ needs the ROT to drop below 1 again.

The new positives by FLOW towns since Tuesday are 11 new positives in Wyckoff bringing us from 451 to 462, 3 new positives in Franklin Lakes bringing them from 241 to 244 and 7 new positives in Oakland bringing them from 274 to 281. Bergen County had 473 new positives since Tuesday bring our county from 24,894 positives to 25,369 positives.

My next reports is Tuesday night when I hopefully get the new numbers for the FLOW towns and Bergen County. We are on our way back from picking up our rescue dog and will post photos of the new Shanley family later when the drive is done from PA. My awesome wife is driving so I can do my update and our new pup Molly is resting comfortably.

Keep the faith! Remain Wyckoff Strong!

Have great night and weekend and an awesome Halloween!!

Tim Shanley, Wyckoff Mayor
