Mayor Shanley COVID-19 Update November 4, 2020

Mayor Shanley COVID-19 Update November 4, 2020

I did not receive our new numbers until this morning so there was no report last night and I waited for NJ to announce their new positives before I sent this so it is as up to date as possible on my lunch break.

Unfortunately cases continue to rise in NJ and around the United States. 9 NJ counties were over 100 positives today with 3 over 200 positives (including Bergen) and 1 over 300 (Essex) on the NJ dashboard. Only 1 state is in the green on RT.live but unfortunately NJ is not the State. See below. Continue to be vigilant in our fight against this virus.

NJ had 1,370 new positives on Saturday, 1,751 on Sunday, 1,379 on Monday and 1,832 on Tuesday and 2,472 positives today which brings the total cases in NJ since the start to 245,237. This is 19th straight days over 1,000 and today’s positives are the highest since early May.

NJ hospitalizations are up from my Tuesday report from 1,058 to 1,213 COVID-19 patients today with an increase in the North from 577 to 638, an increase in the Central from 216 to 288 and an increase in South Jersey from 265 to 287. Patients in critical care are up from 221 to 238 patients and patients on ventilators slightly increased from 79 to 80. NJ deaths rose 12 on Saturday, 4 on Sunday, 3 on Monday, 18 on Tuesday and 9 unfortunate confirmed deaths today as a result of COVID—19.

The Governor’s ROT slightly increased from 1.26 to 1.28 today from my Tuesday report. On RT live the ROT decreased from 1.14 on Tuesday to 1.04 today which is a very positive sign as it decreased on my last 2 reports as well. See link:

https://rt.live/

NJ needs the ROT to drop below 1 again and we are getting closer to that on RT.live. but not on the Governor’s methodology.

The new positives by FLOW towns since Friday are 8 new positives in Wyckoff bringing us from 462 to 470, 6 new positives in Franklin Lakes bringing them from 244 to 250 and 4 new positives in Oakland bringing them from 281 to 285. Bergen County had 682 new positives bring our county from 25,369 positives to 26,051 positives.

My next reports is Friday night when I will get the new numbers for the FLOW towns and Bergen County. If I don’t get the numbers they will be the following day when they get sent to me.

Keep the faith! Remain Wyckoff Strong!

Have great night and the rest of the week.

Tim Shanley, Wyckoff Mayor
