A MESSAGE FROM THE TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE VIA MAYOR TIMOTHY SHANLEY DATED 05.25.20

Wyckoff Town Hall

Mayor Shanley COVID-19 Update 5-25-20

I hope everyone safely enjoyed this weekend and paid tribute to those men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice of this great country. Thank you to the Wyckoff Memorial Day Parade Committee and the Wyckoff-Midland Park VFW for putting together a great video that helped us pay tribute to those men and women who lost their lives defending this country when we could not do that with an in person ceremony due to the pandemic. In case you have not seen the video, attached is the link.

NJ had another good day and only had 965 new positives and is at 155,092. Hospitalizations continued their decline and are at 2,755 and down 66% from its peak. Patients on ventilators and in critical care are also down again. These are positives in getting us on the path to further openings.

Bergen County had 68 new cases and is at 17,901. Wyckoff had 3 new positives and is at 307 positives.

Tomorrow I have a conference call with Senator Booker in the morning and Governor Murphy's aids in the early evening and hope to have more information to report on further openings for our businesses and for graduation ceremonies.

We are on a good path but must remember this virus is still out there and we need to continue to take steps to protect ourselves and our family.

We got this and will get through this as a Wyckoff family. Keep the faith and remain Wyckoff Strong.

Thanks

Tim Shanley, Wyckoff Mayor
