CIRCULATION SERVICES & POLICIES

Registration
Patrons are required to register and use their library card in order to charge out books and other items. Children who are in 1st grade are entitled to have their own library card. Patrons must reregister every 3 years. The cost of a replacement card is $3.


Length of Borrowing Time & Renewals



Books, Audiobooks and CDs circulate for
3 weeks.
High Demand items circulate for 7 days.


New Rental books circulate at 20 cents per day (no time limit).
Videocassettes circulate for 1 week.


Children's CD-ROMs circulate for 2 weeks
(no reserves, no renewals)
  DVDs circulate for 1 week at $1.


Magazines circulate for 1 week
(not the most recent issue)


Reference books and newspapers do not circulate.


Items can be renewed if there are no reserves on them.


Telephone renewals are permitted on all items but videos.


Number of Items Borrowed

Patrons may have a maximum of 50 items on their record at a time.

The following restrictions apply:



3 books in high-demand subject areas; unlimited otherwise
10 music CDs
10 audiobooks
10 videos
10 magazines


Reserve Requests



Patrons may reserve 5 items per day
(online or in person).



To reserve and/or renew items via remote online access, a PIN # is required.

Patrons who are leaving for vacation, business, etc. should reserve items after they return.


Fines



Books, Audiobooks, CDs, Magazines:
10 cents/day ($5 maximum per item)


High Demand & 7-Day books:
20 cents/day (no maximum)
Videocassettes/DVDs: $1/day
($10 maximum)
Children's CDs: $1/day ($10 maximum)


Overdue notices are sent out beginning 3 weeks after an item is due.


Patrons are responsible for lost or damaged books, tapes, etc.
