The Children's Room offers a variety of fiction & non-fiction books, mysteries, Newbery award books, biographies, reference books, holiday books, concept books (illness, new school, etc.), picture books, board books, easy readers, and magazines to pre-school children through 6th grade and their parents.

Every effort is made to select high-quality materials which will nourish the intellectual appetite of children. In addition, there is a commitment to providing opportunities which encourage a love of reading for its own sake. Special year-round programming is designed to make reading part of each child's life outside the confines of the academic setting and to foster a sense of the fun of reading as an everyday pursuit. The staff of the Children's Room is trained to help parents guide their youngsters to make wise choices of reading material.

LIBRARY CARDS: Wyckoff children attending Wyckoff public schools receive their library cards during first grade visits to the library. Wyckoff children not attending Wyckoff public schools may register for library cards when they reach first grade.

In our continuing commitment to the Wyckoff education community, we maintain an extensive collection of "Accelerated Reader" materials with library holdings marked on the lists which have been provided by the schools. We are happy to obtain items which are not available at our library from libraries within the BCCLS network.

In addition to a wide-ranging collection of print materials for all reading levels, the Children's Room provides audio-visual resources including educational games and reference material on CD-ROM; videocassettes; books on tape; and music CD's.
