Senior Busing Program

Wyckoff Senior Busing Program a joint effort of the Township of Wyckoff and the Christian Health Care Center (CHCC), provides transportation service for seniors on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Transportation is provided from the resident's home to and from the following locations within the Township:

  • Physicians, dentists and other health care providers in Wyckoff
  • Wyckoff Public Library, Wyckoff Post Office, Wyckoff Town Hall
  • Wyckoff Family YMCA
  • Wyckoff Shopping Center, Boulder Run Shopping Center, Cedar Hill Shopping Center
  • Banks in Wyckoff
  • Larkin House Senior Citizen facility

Transportation is a pick-up and drop-off service, not a waiting service. Return pick-ups will be scheduled within a minimum of 15 minute intervals, depending upon demand. Scheduling is coordinated by calling the CHCC at (201) 848-4BUS (201-848-4287).

  • Requests for Tuesday transportation must be received by 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening of the week prior.
  • Requests for Thursday pick-ups must be received by 6:00 p.m. on Monday evening of the same week.
  • When calling to request transportation, a recorded message will ask for the required information. Be sure to leave your phone number. Return confirmation calls will be made by CHCC with pick-up and return time information.

The Christian Health Care Center will be as flexible as possible in accommodating multiple stops and minimizing resident waiting. This will depend greatly on demand, weather and traffic conditions. This service is designed for those over the age of 55 and disabled individuals. A vehicle with wheelchair capabilities is available, however, individuals must be able to reach the bus independently and attend to their own affairs once dropped off at an approved location. There is no additional fee for wheelchair accessibility or for an individual that is using the transportation service solely for the purpose of accompanying a disabled resident requiring assistance. These needs should be clearly communicated when scheduling transportation.Transportation needs for medical issues will take priority; however, emergency medical needs cannot be accommodated. Individuals who are not feeling well, and are in need of medical attention should seek other forms of transportation. Services will not be provided on holidays. In the event of inclement weather, the service will not operate and scheduled residents will be informed.

Bergen County Department of Human Services also offers transportation for the disabled, elderly and veterans of Bergen County. Call (201) 368-5955.
